First of all, I hope all of my neighbors in the South had a great Thanksgiving weekend (and also gained a few pounds). I know people in the States make a HUGE deal out of Thanksgiving weekend, but us Canadians had Thanksgiving like two weeks ago, so we’re kind of over it. So, more importantly, did anyone score awesome deals on Black Friday/Cyber Monday?! If so, please share!

In my last post, I mentioned that I wanted to add the Banana Republic classic trench into my closet, but lo and behold, obviously they ran out of my size. Nonetheless, I wanted to take advantage of their 40% off sale and I got this camel pea coat. 

I know a lot of bloggers get their clothes tailored for a better fit. I’m rather ashamed to admit that I rarely get my clothes tailored, unless I need to hem jeans or fix buttons. I feel like this coat fits generously around the sides, but it’s not supposed to be skintight anyways, so I backed out of tailoring it.

As some of you Canadians may know, Holt Renfrew had a promotion this weekend, where they gave out gift cards worth 25% of your purchase. It doesn’t really compare with Neiman Marcus’ 40% off, but keep in mind this promotion was applicable to almost everything in the store, except Louis Vuitton, Louboutin, Chanel, the usual suspects. I wish they’d told me earlier, so I could plan out my purchases months in advance. :D

The shoe department was even more madness than usual, and all the Bottega Venetas were out. I saw a stunning pumpkin-colored wool coat from the Holt Renfrew eponymous line, but I passed because it was really expensive, and I’d have to get some tailoring done. I’m so happy I did, because I realized how much tailoring I had to do when I went to Banana Republic and tried on their petites line and remembered how much better the arms fit. Petite girls: try on coats made for petites! I was surprised how much better it looked!

I want this trench coat from Banana Republic when their sale comes again. I missed the 40% off just recently. :(

However, I DID get something from the Holt's promo. 

The Alexander McQueen silk chiffon scarf in navy and gold! I originally put the black and ivory on hold, but I find this one much more regal and interesting.

I’ve been definitely going through a dry spell! I have a closet bursting with STUFF, and a couple days ago, when I looked at all the STUFF, I realized I absolutely cannot buy any more clothes. I can’t afford to dry clean them, or the patience to hand wash more. I always feel my accessories make the outfit anyways; so from now on I’m only looking for jewelry, boots, and scarves. The only exception I will make is a good-quality coat, because you can’t live in Vancouver without one, and it’s the first thing people see.
